About

Save1Pet, Inc., formed in 2004, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit and is a support organization to assist the local animal shelters with increasing adoptions and public awareness regarding the responsibilities of caring for domestic animals. Since 2004, we have rescued over 2,100 dogs and cats from local shelters, surrendered by caregivers or strays found on the street through 2017. We closed our cat program Jan 2012 and now only rescue dogs. It is, and will be, the mission of Save1Pet, Inc. to reduce pet overpopulation, encourage responsible caring of domestic animals and promote the humane treatment of animals. Save1Pet does not have a shelter facility. We rely on foster homes to house rescued dogs. Short term and longer term foster arrangements are available. Consider opening your heart and your home to give a homeless animal a safe haven until they can find their forever family.

Adoption process

If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to fill out our adoption questionnaire. Please be advised that for all adoptions, we will conduct reference checks, including veterinary references. Our adoption fee for dogs includes spay/neuter, heart worm check, current vaccines, microchip, worming and heart worm/flea/tick prevention. For dog adoptions, we do conduct fence verification. When adopting an animal, you will be asked to complete our Adoption Contract
