Mercer Animal Rescue

About

Mercer Animal Rescue purpose is to rescue, socialize, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for abused, neglected, abandoned and unwanted dogs, cats and horses. We rescue dogs from high kill shelters and the streets in the over-populated south. We transport them to the northeast states or the Chicago area where we hold adoption and fundraising events. All our potential adopters are pre-approved by submitting an adoption application and home checks are sometimes required. We want to make sure our dogs go to the best possible homes since they have not always had the best life. But it’s all about the future…right?

Adoption process

1. When you are ready to adopt a new pal, fill out a MAR Adoption Application and email it as an attachment to merceranimalrescue@gmail.com. 2. Please call your veterinarian to give us permission to do a vet reference check, if applicable. 3. If you are a renter, we will check with your landlord to ensure that dog you are adopting is permitted. 4. We’ll have a brief phone conversation with you to discuss the pet you are interested in, your preferences, schedule, and experience, and answer any questions you may have. 5. If applicable, we may also conduct a home visit. 6. If you have been selected as the dog’s adopter, you will be notified by email or phone and you will be able to arrange picking up your new furry friend!
