The work of South West Idaho Pug Rescue (SWIPR) began when a few Pug lovers decided to become advocates for the pug dog breed and its many mixes. Working together from a back yard, a local dog park, and a foster home network, we have steadily grown to the 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that we are today! Since the founding of our organization in 2007, SWIPR has been working with shelters, other rescues, and the community to bring each and every pug and mix out of the shelters, out of bad homes, out of harms way, and into forever homes! Every day, save-able pets are killed simply because they don't have homes, but together we can bring that number down to zero! Since there are rescues that concentrate on all breeds, and because we are always chronically short on resources, we have chosen to concentrate on the pug and pug mix breeds. Thanks to you, we're able to promote shelter adoptions, educate the public, and step in when medically necessary. We take in the puppies, and we take in the harder cases (injured pugs and/or older pugs). We are 100% spay and neuter. If you are a breeder, or are looking for a dog to breed, please do not call us and waste both your time and ours.
