About

River Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving the animals that have been abandoned in local shelters and in the community. We are for the "underdogs", the overlooked, the ones that are seen as less adoptable due to treatable issues or age. Our main focus is on senior and special needs animals in shelters. We are entirely non profit , foster based ( animals are kept in loving family homes while waiting for a home, not in a boarding/ shelter facility), and all volunteer. We rely solely on donations to keep running so that we can continue to save lives. Because we are all volunteer, we have no paid employees, please allow 1-2 business days ( Mon-Fri) for replies to email inquires. We work hard to get back to everyone as soon as possible. Adoption process

All animals are vet checked, heartworm tested, vaccinated, microchipped spayed or neutered and treated for intestinal parasites. All animals are also current on heartworm and flea prevention while in our care. Dogs adoption fees are $115-$150 depending on how much vetting each animal has required to before being made ready for adoption. Cat adoption fees are $95. All potential adopters must first fill out an adoption application and in most cases go through a home inspection prior to being approved to adopt.
