About

ARF is a non-profit, adoption guarantee animal shelter serving the Greater Mobile area. We believe every life matters. Our mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from overcrowded animal shelters and provide the care they need, until we can place them in permanent, loving homes. Through outreach and education, we advocate for animals in our community and are committed to bringing about a time when there are no more homeless pets. We have been serving the community since 1995.

Adoption process

About 100 dogs and cats live on site at our shelter facility - the ARFanage. You can visit during our adoption hours listed below without an appointment. At any time, we also house 50-100 animals in foster homes! If you are interested in a particular animal, we suggest filling out an adoption application and our adoption counselors will let you know if the animal is at the ARFanage or a foster home. If animal is in a foster home, we'll arrange a time for you to meet!
