We are a small group of volunteers trying to make a difference in the lives of just few from our homeland Taiwan. Taiwan has a very high percentage of abandoned and abused pets that are discarded as trash and thrown away onto the streets, in the mountains or in the remote areas and left to fend for their lives. Most of these unwanted pets are dumped in the public animal shelters. All animal shelters in Taiwan are high-kill shelters where the animals have only 12 days to live; and there are only 2-3% of them luckily get adopted. We do our best to take in and rescue as many as we can. Our goal is find each and every one of these rescued dogs a safe, permanent and loving home in the United States. Please help us to give each one of these dogs the life they deserve. We do not have a physical shelter for you to visit because our dogs live with families in foster homes until the time of adoption. All of our rescued dogs will go to their Forever Homes completely vetted. All will be spayed or neutered; all of their vaccinations will be up to date; they will be heartworm negative and be on monthly heartworm prevention.

Adoption process

If you are interested in a dog on our list, please email to request an application and adoption agreement. You will be asked to fill out an adoption application giving Hopeful Hearts Dog Rescue, some information about yourself, your family, home, children, and your experience with pets, etc. to provide the best match for your family and lifestyle. You will also need to provide a vet reference and a personal reference. Once an application is approved by calling references and doing a home visit then a visit with the dog will be arranged. Our goal is to match the right person with the right dog. For safety purposes, no visit will be scheduled until the application is submitted and approved. We do adopt out of state however you are required to travel to pick up the dog, we do not ship or transport any of our rescued dogs.
