Escarosa Greyhound and All-Pet Adoptions originally began, in Florida, as Escarosa Greyhound Adoptions, which was founded by Mike Massaro in 2001. Mike was well-known in the Florida Panhandle for his extensive work with the Pensacola Humane Society and other animal rescue organizations. But his passion became placing retired racing Greyhounds in loving homes, and he started Escarosa to do just that. We joined Mike as volunteers in late 2007, and eventually assumed the day-to-day rescue operations as his health declined. Sadly Mike passed away in May, 2009 and although we no longer rescue Greyhounds (another rescue has taken over helping the retired racers), we have dedicated ourselves to continuing his mission to help unwanted, abused, neglected and homeless pets. In 2011 we partnered with a long time rescue and transport friend in Kentucky and Escarosa North was established (still called Escarosa Greyhound and All-Pet Adoptions) to help the pets of Kentucky as well as those in Florida. Escarosa Greyhound and All-Pet Adoptions is a non-profit foster program dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused, neglected and homeles pets. We think Mike would be very proud!!
