The Colorado Japanese Chin Rescue is a group of volunteers dedicated to rehabilitating and re-homing Japanese Chins. We are licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture (PACFA) and are currently in the process of obtaining our 501(c)3 Charitable Organization status through the IRS. We are also members in good standing with All Breed Rescue Network (ABRN). Our dogs are never kept in a kennel or shelter environment. Instead, they are kept in our homes and treated like members of our families until we are able to find them their own special people. All our dogs are given a thorough health examination by a licensed veterinarian. Each is treated for any known illness, spay/neutered, brought current on vaccinations, and micro-chipped. Dental work is done when needed. Occasionally we receive dogs who require surgeries. If this is the case, our amazing veteranarians provide expert care. After surgery, our dogs are given plenty of time in foster care to recuperate before going to their forever homes.
We make every effort to match each dog with the right forever home based on both the needs of the dog as well as the needs and expectations of the adopter. Many of these dogs have been transitioned multiple times in homes, shelters, commercial breeding facilities or have been strays. Our goal is to find a final forever home for each dog through an application process, telephone interview, meeting with dogs in foster care, home visit and reference verification for each potential adopter. We really want both adopter and rescue dog to be happy and thrive together.
