Bishop Animal Shelter S.P.C.A. of Manatee County, FL is a privately funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is a no-kill adoption facility that is dedicated to finding homes for cats, dogs, small animals, and birds.

Adoption process

At Bishop, we have same day, open adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. Once you find your new best friend, our staff are happy to introduce you and help make sure it's the perfect fit. The fee for cats and dogs includes spaying or neutering, microchipping and microchip registration, up-to-date vaccinations, collar, leash for dogs, cardboard carrier for cats and rabbits, tag, and a certificate for one free check-up with our shelter veterinarian. Our dogs are tested for heart worm, and our cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. All rabbits are spayed/neutered.
