I never seek to give places bad reviews, but I’m astonished at the treatment I received here. I placed an adoption application with several shelters in my area, as I have a unique housing situation and kittens are in high demand. I never heard back from Beata, until I received a phone call and email from her last night (Friday) asking if I was still interested and if so, if I wanted to talk about the process. I responded and said I had an appointment at another shelter and to please not hold any pets for me in the case that I adopted two other kittens. I then receive a belligerent email from Joanna stating: “I’m all set with millennials and anxiety pets....your irresponsible and I will be contacting cat shelters to not adopt to you.” I told her it was discriminatory to say something like that to someone with service animals and her response was “my preference is no one under 30 and absolutely no anxiety and other nonsense!!!” They then redacted all emails to me, but I'm glad I took screenshots and saved copies of these discriminatory statements. I’m an individual who has been approved to have service animals due to my conditions. To be treated this way was heartbreaking and I hope people consider this post when choosing a place to adopt.

The dog we received was much sicker than the owner of the rescue led us to believe. He was supposedly de wormed. When we took him to the vet he had hook worms, round worms, tape worms, whip worms. The vet also discovered he had a bladder infection, ear infection in both ears. I understand parasites are very common in animals but this was not appropriate. By no way I'm advocating not rescuing dogs but its good to know the actual health of the animal before you end up hundred upon hundred of dollars as an out of pocket expensive. Im not sure if this was an act of deception or an honest mistake. Regardless it was very expensive and frustrating.
