About

Stratford Cat Project is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue of homeless and abandoned cats in Stratford and surrounding communities. Founded in 2001, Stratford Cat Project rescues stray cats, provides veterinary care, food, shelter, socialization, and love until an animal is ready for adoption. We are not a shelter and do not have a facility. All of our animals live in foster homes. In addition to our focus on rescue and rehoming, Stratford Cat Project promotes spay/neuter, public awareness and education as to kindness to all living creatures, and responsible pet ownership. We are establishing a low cost spay/neuter program to encourage people to spay/neuter their pets and/or strays that they are feeding. Our mission is to end the needless pain and suffering of as many homeless cats that we can help.

Adoption process

Once one (or two) of our feline friends has caught your eye, please feel free to attend a SCP public adoption or email us at kwestbrook@snet.net. All of our feline friends have been tested for feline aids and leukemia, and have had age appropriate vaccinations. You can print out our adoption application and bring it with you to an adoption. Our adoption donation is: $125 per adult cat (1 year and up), $150 per kitten (up to 11 months). All cats/kittens will be spayed/neutered before adoption. The adoption fee also covers their additional shots and is used toward helping us defray the cost of food, medication, housing and veterinary care for our feline friends. Adopters must be 21 years of age or older, and if renting, must have proof from your landlord as to permission to have pets.
