About

SOAR has been formed to speak out on behalf of chained, abused, and neglected dogs, and to help rescue those in need. SOAR will work in conjunction with local shelters, rescue groups, and help transport, advocate and educate in order to create a better Kentucky for all animals. SOAR is a 501(c3), nonprofit organization based in Georgetown, KY. that covers eight surrounding counties. SOAR will also work with the government powers that be, to change laws and ordinances in order to help animals and hold their abusers accountable for their actions.

Adoption process

To adopt a dog from SOAR, the first step in the process is to fill out the application. Once we receive your completed application, we will check your references. If you list a vet, please call your vet to give SOAR permission to check your vet records. Once your application is approved, SOAR will set up a home visit. This step in the process is crucial to ensuring a good fit for the family and for the dog. To apply for adoption, please click to download the file.
