In January 2010, we agreed to foster a very sweet Lab mix, Evie, with her 6, 5 week old puppies, Cherry, Chelsea, Chet, Chewy, Charlie and Chunk. These 7 dogs stole our hearts and sadly, a week after we took them, they started to get sick. It was confirmed they had contracted distemper and, one by one, they crossed the rainbow bridge. But not before fueling the fire in us to do whatever we could to prevent this from happening to other puppies. Hence, the creation of Southern California Animal Rescue. While we were not able to save Evie and the 6, sweet C's, their memory lives on through our rescue.
