S.A.F.E. (Spay/Neuter, Adoption, Foster and Education) Animal Haven is a nonprofit. foster-based, rescue group. We are made up entirely of volunteers, all of whom care deeply about animals and our community. We believe that a caring and compassionate commitment to the pets we share our lives with provide an enriching environment for everyone.

Adoption process

Our adoption process: Completed and signed Adoption Application; Satisfactory veterinarian and personal references; Home visit; Adoption fee of $175 which covers the adoption, appropriate vaccines and medical tests, spay/neuter prior to placement and microchip; Follow-up contact to check on progress. NOTE: Because we are a nonprofit rescue group, we place our fosters within an hour driving distance of the Matthews, NC area ONLY. We are not able to travel further distances and we do not ship animals or allow pick-ups from outside our area. Thank you for your understanding.
