Rescue Reinvented is a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, foster based organization primarily serving the Galveston, Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties. Our mission is to rescue and train dogs, primarily German Shepherd Dogs, with the goal of finding them a permanent and loving home. All dogs will receive full veterinary care, including spay/neuter, positive training, and necessary behavior modification before they are ready to adopt. The organization will provide ongoing support and training to adopters of our dogs. In the future, Rescue Reinvented plans to also add focus on service and community, with two distinct programs to identify potential Service/Companion Dog candidates as well as outreach to senior citizens and people with serious illness or disability to help them keep their pets by providing food and transportation for vet care.
Step 1. Submit an application! Be sure to be as detailed as possible, and include all requested information to prevent delays in processing your application (including an email address that you check often). Our main form of communication is email, so be sure to check your email frequently! You will receive a confirmation email as soon as your application has been received. If you have not received this confirmation within 48 hours, please check your junk mail and contact our Adoptions Coordinator at adopt@rescuereinvented.org to confirm receipt of application. Step 2. We will perform landlord, veterinarian, and reference checks. This part of the process can take 5-7 days to complete. If we have any trouble contacting your references, we will reach out to you through email. Step 3. If all goes well in step 2, you will be pre-approved to adopt and move on to our placement team! Our placement team is dedicated to helping you meet the perfect dog. They will work with you to find out what you are looking for and match you up with our available dogs. Step 4. Once you have decided to meet a dog, we will complete a home visit. An experienced volunteer will come to your home and meet with your family. We require all family members living in the household to be present, and we complete a fence check as well as discuss GSD education. In some situations, we may require a home visit before pre-approval, however this is only for certain cases. Step 5. After your home visit is complete a decision will be made on your adoption status. If you are approved to adopt, you may move forward with meeting the dog you have worked with placement to select!
