Pet Haven of South Carolina (PHSC) is a federally recognized public non-profit organization. We are dedicated to the preservation and welfare of all domestic animals with an all-volunteer organization and our efforts are funded solely through your generosity! We are dedicated to preventing cruelty to, relieving the suffering of, and providing humane treatment for animals. Our goal is to not only strengthen the bond but also the understanding between animals and humans. It is our mission to provide a safe haven for our community’s abused and abandoned cats and dogs, with the goal of rehabilitation and adoption into permanent loving homes. As a NO-KILL rescue, all animals brought into the rescue remain under the stewardship of Pet Haven of South Carolina, until they are adopted. We will only consider euthanasia when recommended by a veterinarian to relieve an animal’s suffering due to irreversible injury, illness or disease. We place approximately 185-200 animals per year into loving homes!
We require all of our cats and kittens to leave in a cat carrier. We make sure that all are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, flea treatment, and deworming before adoption. If you adopt a kitten that is to small to be spayed or neutered we ask that you follow through in getting that done as soon as they are of weight. We will usually already have an appointment set for those that are to small and ask that you keep that appointment to ensure they get spayed or neutered. We ask for a vet reference for any current or former pets you have had. If this is your first pet we can recommend some vet offices that may be close to you. If you are interested in adopting a dog from us we may require a home visit prior to the adoption.
