PAWS for Life’s mission is to help lost or unwanted animals; to return lost ones to their owners whenever possible or after having them spayed or neutered, place them in good homes; and to educate the public about intelligent and humane treatment of animals. PAWS is a private animal shelter. We operate on “limited admission” based on space, staffing and adoptability.

Adoption process

Due to the problems that can arise when someone is surprised with a “live” gift – we require that all potential adopters visit the shelter and visit our dogs in person. ​ You will need to bring the whole family, including dogs, to meet potential new family members in our meet and greet area. Home checks may be made for any adopted animal. A yard must be fenced with materials and of a height appropriate for the size and activity level of the dog selected for adoption.
