We are an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization, dedicating time outside of work and family to help Weimaraners in need. Although countless volunteers are being utilized across Oregon, Washington and Idaho at any given time, no volunteer is able to speak for, or on behalf of, Oregon Weimaraner Rescue.

Adoption process

Process: We accept applications for a specific dog until we feel there is an adequate pool to review. Applications are read and sorted on their potential suitability to meet the specific needs of the dog in question (we want success for the dog). THIS IS DONE ENTIRELY BASED UPON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN YOUR APPLICATION, BE THOROUGH! The theoretical best fit(s) for the dog are contacted for a phone interview. An in person meet and greet is scheduled between the applicant (and any existing dogs) with the adoptive dog. A home inspection is performed to verify what was shared in the application is accurate and true. A 'Placement Contract' (inclusive of fee) is signed prior to taking ownership.
