One by One Friends of Animals, Inc (“One by One”) differs from other rescues by striving to save animals, mostly dogs, that other rescues in our local area are unable to take due to size, breed or health issues. We saw that medium and large breed dogs were underserved in our community and needed a lifeline as the typical shelter stay is often insufficient to provide these loving animals with the time needed to find them a forever home. One by One is 100% volunteer run so that every dollar goes directly to the animals. There are no salaries paid and most administrative supplies (paper, printer ink, etc) are donated. Since being formed in June 2014, One by One has rescued 350 animals directly through our foster program. Our weekly adoption events and our efforts updating the shelter's national adoption listings, have assisted in the placement of 254 animals from the Claremore Animal Shelter. In addition, we have assisted in the rescue of 343 aminals. These results were acheived either by providing short-term foster care and/or by participating in the transport of these animals to other rescue roups across the country. As of December 2020, that totals 947 lives saved that would have otherwise been lost. We are extremely proud of these figures and would not have been able to achieve this goal without the support of our community, adopters, volunteers, rescue partners and you! Adoption process

You've found your pet and you're ready to adopt. Your pet has been living in a foster home where the foster care giver has gotten to know the pet well. You will be asked to fill out an adoption application that the care giver will look over to see that the match will be a good one. We want our animals to find good, life long homes where they will have the best chance to settle in and bond. Once approved, you will also be asked to sign an Adoption Contract And Release of Liability form before the adoption is finaliazed.
