Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit and no kill animal rescue based in Cincinnati and Staten Island, New York. We are proudly foster based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

Adoption process

Our adoption process begins by completing an application - please fill it out in its entirety and tell us as much about yourself as possible. If your application looks like a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, an Adoption Counselor will contact you directly to discuss your application and answer any questions you may have. If we agree that the pet could be a good match for your family, our team will work with you and the pet’s foster family to schedule a meet and greet. An adoption application does not obligate you to adopt and can be transferred to any pet at any time. If you’ve already submitted an application and would like to transfer it to another pet, please submit an Adoption Application Transfer Request.
