Last Hope Rescue really is the “last hope” for so many dogs in the Tallahassee area (and the rest of North Florida and Georgia because hey, they need us too!) that are in danger and in need of loving attention. We recognized the sad fact that so many great animals get put down every day for sheer lack of space in shelters - through no fault of their own - and decided to step in. Most of our dogs are pulled from the shelter on the very day that they are scheduled to be put down.

Adoption process

The first step is to fill out an application. Send us an email to LastHopeRescueFL@gmail.com, if you are interested in one of our furbabies, along with the completed application. Once we have received your application, someone will contact you within a couple of days. Please keep in mind that we are run completely through volunteers, most of which have full time jobs. We know you are excited (we are too!), but sometimes we just can’t immediately respond, even though we wish we could. We PROMISE to get back to you within 72 hours! Once you have been approved, we will arrange a time for you to meet the dog as well as for us to do a home inspection. Please understand that we are very dedicated to our dogs and their safety and comfort comes first and foremost, which is why we do the home visit. Don’t worry, we aren’t concerned with your decorating taste!! We just want to know that we are sending our dog somewhere he/she will be safe and comfortable. As you can imagine, we fall in love with ALL of our dogs! After the home inspection and the meet & greet, as long as everyone is happy and wants to move forward, we arrange to bring the dog to you. Please be prepared to pay the $125 adoption fee at that time. (Check is preferred, though cash is accepted as well.) If you already have a pet (or two or three) we will help you introduce your new dog to the rest of the family.
