K9 ResQ of AL, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer animal rescue located in Birmingham, Alabama. We are not a shelter and are able to function solely through a network of individual foster homes and donations. K9 ResQ of AL advocates responsible pet ownership by offering advice and resources to provide proper vetting, spaying and neutering and training. We work with various shelters in Alabama and the public in an attempt to find loving homes for as many homeless or needy dogs as possible. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason. We screen anyone interested in fostering or adopting by using thorough applications, legally binding contracts and doing reference, vet and home checks. We place dogs in loving and responsible homes following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care to find good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. We require an adoption fee. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment and are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. We remain interested in and committed to the welfare of the dogs beyond the adoption process.
