About

We are a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit dog rescue based in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded on March 31, 2010 Blackdogs Rescue is a humanitarian facility, operating entirely on donations and volunteers, out of a love for animals. We became a 501(c)(3) in 2015. We are a small all breed rescue dedicated to helping some of the most needy dogs entering rural Kentucky shelters who may have behavioral or medical needs. We address those needs with the ultimate goal of getting them ready for adoption. Recently we have expanded our efforts globally to the dogs of the dog meat trade in Asia. Working with various organizations we have brought in dogs from both Korea and China.
