I inquired about a pet, detailing that I had been waiting until we got a house (which we recently did) to get a dog, and that I felt the particular pet would be good for our family because I have a two year old who i want to be able to play with the dog, and that if not sooner, I hoped to adopt by Christmas. I quickly got a rude response that they have a policy of not adopting to families with children under seven (rich their website states that families with children under 6 would be accepted on a case-by-case basis) and that "dog is not good Christmas present as dog is part of family and forever." As someone who has owned three cats and a dog through their lifetimes (all rescues), the presumption in this response was incredibly offensive. When I responded mentioning these things, she replied that she'd been doing this for 14 years and never heard this (I can only assume "this" meant that no one had ever disagreed with her), and "you not quilified to adopt dog from us. This is why this happend ."Mind you she didn't know anything about me except that I own a house and have a 2 year old. I guess I'm not qualified because I pointed out her contradictions and rudeness. Don't waste your time dealing with this person. They are rude and presumptuous. Poor dogs they are entrusted with.
