About

Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) is an organization created and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals in the New Orleans area, including responding to the immediate needs of those in need of medical care or those too old, too young, too sick, neglected, abused and deprived of love. ARNO promotes the foster, adoption and reunion of pets with caretakers as well as spaying and neutering all companion animals through our no-kill shelter.

Adoption process

To apply to adopt or foster an animal from ARNO, please fill out the proper application. If you have questions regarding a specific animal or want more information on adopting or fostering, please email adopt@animalrescueneworleans.org. Our adoption and foster application process includes a vet check, home check and approval from your landlord if you are a renter. All family members in your household must also be on board with the decision to foster or adopt. If you currently have pets, we will schedule a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along. Once you have an approved application, we will then schedule an appointment for you to meet our adoptable pets.
