My name is Jennifer Riggs. I am president/founder of Vom Blue RR. Myself and my husband Richard are dedicated to helping all of the homeless Rottweilers in our area. We have 2 children and 2 of our own Rottweilers. We have owned and rescued Rottweilers for over 8 years. We know alot about Rottweilers from our own experience and from alot of research. We are located in Evansville,Indiana. We at Vom Blue Rott Rescue take great pride in being a part of the rescue community. We all love what we do and hope to one day have a sanctuary where all the homeless rotties can live out their lives with love, shelter, care, and exercise. Until then we can only do so much. We run this rescue out of our home so we can only take in a couple at a time. We are trying are best to help all of the homeless rotties in the tri-state. As of right now we only have a few people fostering for us, so it is hard to accomplish that goal. We are also trying to educate the public on rottie behavior, and show people that rotties are one of the best breeds around, and they should be loved like any other dog. ( NOT FEARED.)
We adopted our 6 lb mixed terrier from this rescue in the spring of 2010. Our Bogey is still w/us, though we’re dealing w/dementia, sundowners, poor hearing and sight. His personality has some little quirks now that weren’t prominent before, but we still simply love and adore him. At 14.5, he’s still pretty spry physically and super feisty on his good days. He sleeps a lot now, and he loves a good snuggle. We’ll never be able to show enough gratitude for choosing us to take him home. After a horrendous loss of a dog right before him, he was my heart plug. The hole he will leave may take a whole pack to fill. ????????????
We adopted a young male Mastweiler from Jennifer a little over nine yrs ago..Very pleased with the whole experience , we still have our “baby” with us, but at eleven yrs old for a 166 lb dog he is as our vet says “ really old”.. Love him to pieces, and am not looking forward to saying goodbye.
Over eight years ago we adopted a Mastweiler from Vom Blue Rescue....his prior name was Butkus, we renamed Miles...he has been a joy to own. We love him dearly, sadly at the age of 10 1/2 yrs old he is declining fairly fast... We are hoping to adopt another rescue, when the time is right.. Miles has enjoyed a pond to swim in and over 6 acres to run and explore...of course with one of us at his side..
