The Animal League is an animal shelter and so much more. The mission of The Animal League is to enhance the lives of animals and people in our communities through education, awareness, adoption, and compassion. In particular we: act for the community as an advocate on behalf of animals; provide for the well-being of animals who are abandoned, injured, subjected to unfair or cruel treatment, or otherwise in need; provide shelter for these animals; maintain a “no kill” policy; serve the citizens and animals of our community by sponsoring related public health programs and upholding the laws enacted for their protection; educate the public on responsible pet ownership including prevention of over-population by spay and neutering.

Adoption process

An approved application is required before taking any pet home. This includes us contacting 3 of your references and your veterinarian (if you currently have pets). Each pet is unique! We adopt pets based on a “best match” approach to ensure the adopter’s lifestyle and circumstances are suitable for the breed of choice. This means we may recommend alternate pets to you for consideration. We do this for the safety and long-term well-being of our adoptables. To expedite the adoption process, you may wish to complete an adoption application online prior to visiting the adoption center.

Please help. I am trying my hardest to locate 2 kittens for adoption Either you can't see them or they want to charge too much money. If I could afford to buy them I would. I live in a home in Lady Lake Florida and finding something closer to my home is rare. I really want to adopt 2 kittens and give them a good home and all of my love Also when trying to fill this out I cannot see the entire form to answer all of it. Very clever
