Texas Sled Dog Rescue

About

Texas Sled Dog Rescue focuses on giving sled dog types, primarily Siberian Huskies as well as Alaskan Malamutes and mixes a second chance at a pawsome fur-ever home. While in rescue, we will place them in foster homes, provide basic training as needed, and vetting which includes vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip and other medical services as needed. Our volunteers are involved in all facets of rescue including but not limited to fundraising, transporting, evaluating dogs, respresenting the rescue at local dog events, fostering, etc.

Adoption process

Our available sled dogs are waiting for you! Please do your research on the breed and commit to a lifetime commitment for lots of love and dedication. Once ready, please submit the application! It's a multi-step process that includes a vet check, calling personal references and a home visit. Applicants must be 21 years of age and head of household (own/rent and deed/lease in your name) and live in Texas (we rarely adopt out-of-state). Children in the home or visit often must be at least 6 yrs old (exceptions have been made dependent on previous sled dog experiences). Applicants who rent/least must provide contact info for landlord as they will be contacted for verification.
