Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c)(3), non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of abused, neglected, and at-risk beagles and beagle mixes. TBBR beagles live in our foster families' homes - promoting a safe, nurturing environment where they can decompress and feel at home. We provide preventative medical care as well as life saving medical care for the sick, injured, and elderly beagles. When the beagles are ready our adoption counselors ensure that each beagle is adopted to the right family and environment.
1. Read about the beagle breed to be sure this dog matches your lifestyle and personality. While we think beagles are terrific dogs, we know that no one breed is perfect for every single family. Many people adopt or purchase beagles because they are small and friendly without ever finding out more about the breed. We encourage anyone who is considering adding a beagle to their family to learn all they can about these stubborn, playful hounds! 2. Submit an on-line application. 3. Approval of the application is based on a phone interview and vet check. It usually takes us 3-5 days to approve an application but it can take a little longer. It is imperative that you check your email and spam as email is the way we will contact you for your application. Thanks for your patience. 4. Visit with the beagles! After you are approved, you can visit with the dogs at adoption events , usually scheduled twice a month. Adoption events are open to the public, but only pre approved applicants will be able to adopt the same day. We recommend submitting the application at least 10 days in advance to ensure it is approved in time. 5. Sign an adoption contract and pay the donation. The adoption donation is based on the age of the dog that you select. This adoption donation covers the boarding and medical expenses incurred on all rescues, not just one. The adoption donation for some animals might be adjusted for special circumstances. $400 for puppies up to 6 months; $275 for puppies 6 months to 24 months; $200 for dogs 2 years to 4 years old; $175 for dogs 4 years to 7 years old; $125 for senior dogs 8 years and older. Senior adopters age 65 and over who adopt senior dogs age 8 and older pay a special adoption fee of $65.
