Sunshine State Westie Rescue, formerly known as Westie Rescue Florida (WRFL), is the only rescue organization in FL associated with Westie Rescue USA, and run by Mid-Atlantic Westie Rescue. They have rescues throughout the country and have been saving Westies for more then 15 years. We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit, completely run volunteer organization committed to helping any Florida Westie in need. SSWR is is focused on the rescue, rehabilitation and eventual re-homing of Westies in need of help. We provide them with all the medical care they may need, our volunteers foster each dog as long as necessary for the well being of the dog, then when they are healthy, happy and ready for their own family, we are committed to finding the best home possible for each and every one of the Westies in our care.

Adoption process

Westie Rescue will conduct a phone interview in addition to personal and veterinary reference checks. A Home Safety Check will be required prior to approving any adoption. A tax deductible DONATION is requested at the time of adoption. These donations are the lifeblood of the organization and we can't rescue Westies without them. We operate under the 501(c)(3) of the Mid Atlantic States; their suggested tax-deductible Adoption Donations range from $250-$500. The Adoption Donations are not for a particular dog, but go toward rescue and care of incoming dogs.
