Community Animal Rescue and Education (St. Francis C.A.R.E.) was founded in 2006 by a group of animal enthusiasts who wanted to provide shelter for unwanted animals before placing them in good homes. The founders soon expanded their purpose to help educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering pets to minimize the use of euthanasia for population control. St. Francis C.A.R.E. is also home to the first low-cost spay and neuter clinic in Southern Illinois. We offer spay/neuter services and yearly vaccinations to families who meet our low income qualifications.
The adoption process is simple, once you have selected your forever companion, you will need to fill out an application. This can be done online or in person at St. Francis CARE.
