Adoption process

Completing an application form is part of the adoption process to adopt a Silky Terrier through the Silky Terrier Rescue Charitable Trust (STRCT). The information you provide helps our coordinators match you and your family with just the right dog. Answer the form as completely as you can and remember that your name and e-mail address are required. Your responses will only be used in rescue-related activities but may be read by a network of STRCT rescue workers and coordinators. Your information may also be transmitted via e-mail to other STRCT rescue workers. Please keep in mind that most of the Silky Terriers in our rescue program are adults, and there are more male silkys than females in rescue. If you are are seeking a puppy, it is very unlikely that you will find one through the rescue program. We do occasionally have Silkys that are 1 or 2 years old, but this is infrequent. But older Silkys have alot of love to give and can be a wonderful addition to your family. If you are serious about adopting a rescue and you express interest in a particular dog expect interviews, reference checks and possibly a home-visit from a STRCT rescue worker before the adoption is finalized. Finally, please note that STRCT will probably charge an adoption fee to cover direct and indirect expenses incurred in the rescue program.
