Seattle Humane promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography. Our community expects all adoptable animals to be humanely cared for and placed into loving homes, and keeping pets with families avoids pet homelessness. We get them here, get them healthy and happy, and get them home.

Adoption process

1. View cats, dogs, and critters available for adoption. 2. Fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire once you’ve identified a pet you’re interested in meeting. You can also download and fill-out our questionnaires at home and bring it with you to the shelter - see forms for cats, dogs, rabbits, or small animals. 3. Give your completed questionnaire to an Adoption Advisor at the shelter. Questionnaires are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. 4. Speak with an Adoption Advisor who will help you identify your match. 5. Visit with your four-legged match(es). 6. Complete the adoption paperwork. 7. Head home to enjoy your new companion!
