About

Save a Life Pet Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to save and enrich the lives of dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes, and conditions that have suffered from neglect, cruelty, abandonment, or overpopulation in high-kill animal shelters. In keeping with our mission, Save a Life Pet Rescue rescues all dogs and cats in need of our assistance, including blind, deaf, and severely injured animals. In fact, we are one of the few animal rescues that treats animals with any illness or injury, including mange, Parvo, distemper, corona, influenza, kennel cough, broken bones, liver shunts. To us, no problem is too big or too small. Yet, in agreement with what an unknown author once said, "Rescuers, rescue supporters, and volunteers do not walk on water. We don't wear capes and tights or leap tall buildings. We aren't better than anyone else, but we do pursue a cause that we believe makes us better than before we started. We make mistakes; we feel we can't do enough at home; we rant out in frustration; we lose our tempers and get snappy; we have to reject people sometimes for the good of a dog. We are not always likeable. What we do is draining, emotionally, financially and physically. Please bear with us and forgive us our flaws, because we are doing work that's bigger than we are." Because we believe that every animal deserves a second chance at a long, happy, and healthy life, we work tirelessly to find our rescued animals perfect, forever homes. Since our formation in 2006, we have successfully rehabilitated, spayed/neutered, and placed over 15,000 animals with warm, loving families! Save a Life Pet Rescue looks forward to saving and enriching the lives of thousands of additional animals in desperate need of assistance and loving, forever homes with the continued support of adopters, volunteers, fosters, and the community.

Adoption process

1. Meet with an animal that you would potentially like to adopt. Introduce yourself and potential members of the adopting family to the animal to ensure that the animal and individuals get along well. 2. Ask the adoption event staff about temperaments, care requirements, history, and behaviors of the animal that you would potentially like to adopt. Please keep in mind that some animals may have unknown histories. 3. Once you have selected an animal to adopt, complete an adoption application and contract. 4. Review the adoption application and contract with a Save a Life Pet Rescue adoption assistant. The adoption assistant will ask you questions to ensure that you found the right pet to fit your lifestyle. 5. If the animal is a good match for you, the next step is to pay an adoption fee (in cash only). Before taking your new pet home, Save a Life Pet Rescue’s adoption assistants will give you your animal’s medical records, pet care information, a coupon for one free veterinary exam at our recommended clinics. 6. Welcome your new pet into your family!
