Grabb Animal Shelter is a city-funded shelter that deals only with dogs and cats. Our shelter has room for about 40 dogs and 20 cats. Unfortunately, we are not a no kill shelter. Most of the animals we get are strays, so we don’t know a whole lot about them other than what we learn while interacting with them here. We only accept animals from inside the city limits but often have a list of animals needing homes from the county.

Adoption process

The adoption fee for cats is $100 and dogs is $150. It includes all required shots (i.e. Vanguard, Felomune, heartworm, feline leukemia, etc.), as well as microchipping and spaying and neutering. If you are renting your home we need a statement from your landlord stating that you can have a pet with all of their contact information.
