As Colorado’s only “Micro Rescue,” Ruff Start Rescue & Training aims to provide the handcrafted, high-quality experience of a microbrewery, starting with our most important ingredient—our pups. By blending exceptional veterinary care with force-free training and a healthy dash of enrichment, we’re proud to say we brew a great batch of adoptable dogs. But like any good beer, these pooches need to be put up properly until they find their forever homes. Help us change Ruff Starts into Happy Endings - become a foster. Or adopt! Keeping dogs in foster homes allows us to get a great idea of their personality so we can make a great match between adopter and pup. We provide comprehensive, life time behavior support for each of our adopted dogs. We are able to provide in-home, private training. We also assist with spay/neuter clinics and community education on the reservations we work with to improve the lives of the dogs we have to leave behind. All of our board members and volunteers are just that; volunteers! We are so lucky to have so many people donate their valuable time to help us change those Ruff Starts to Happy Endings! Ruff Start is a 501C3 federally recognized tax exempt charity & is PACFA licensed.
