About

Steamboat Springs, Colorado is our home, and we aim to assist animals in need in Routt County. We count on the generosity of our local community so that we can provide veterinary care for dogs, cats, and the occasional bunnies and ferrets at the Routt County Humane Society facility. We also use your donations to assist pets in need from low income families and for trap/neuter/release in feral cat colonies. We believe that spaying and neutering helps reduce future, unwanted pet population in our community and makes for healthier, longer-lived pets. Join us!

Adoption process

The Routt County Humane Society has now taken over operation and management of the Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter. If you would like to adopt one of them, stop by and fill out an application. Adoption Fees: Dogs $175-325.00, Puppies (under 5 months) $400.00, Cats $80.00, Kittens $115.00, Working cats $40.00, Guinea pigs & rabbits $40.00, Ferrets $75.00
