Rebecca's Paws and Claws Inc. is a non-profit, no kill 501c(3) corporation. We are located in Blount County Alabama but have fosters that are in Trussville, Bessemer, Pinson, Warrior, and Hayden. We incorporated in February 2011, but many of our fosters have been in continuous operation much longer, working with various shelters. Most of the animals we have are abandoned at a kill shelter or dumped on the side of the road. We as a rescue also are about reuniting animals with their rightful and have reunited several animals with their rightful owners. We tend to go after the under dogs and do not like to see any animal suffer. We run solely off of donation and all donations are tax deductible.
To adopt a pet we require you fill out a application. After doing so we will verify your home address and talk with your current vet. Our goal is to get our beloved pets into a home that is loving and the pet becomes part of the family unit. We also require you sign a agreement that if you decide for any reason yo do not wish to have the pet any longer, the pet must be returned to us. For up north adoptions, the transport company used to transport the pets is a licensed transporter. We hold the right to refuse adoption if we feel pet and family is not a good match. Each state is different on adoption policies. Therefore we may not be able to adopt in some northern states. Each law is set up to protect the animal and family from sick dogs and cats. Please understand we do not wish to upset anyone, but the family and pet must be happy. And all laws strictly adhered to. Therefore the pet must be able to interact with the family and it's activities. Also the family must be able to care for the pets physical and mental needs. We may require references as well as home visits. We put a lot of love into our precious pets and we know you will be just as caring and concerned as we are for the well being of our pets.
Excellent--very professional.
Adopted 3 month old kitten. I was told it was up to date on shots....had NO vaccines other than rabies. Came up on transport with upper respiratory infection AND major ear mite infestation. Kitten was too skinny for frame. Very disappointed in the representation and care of this animal
This rescue is ALL about the dogs they bring in. (and cats, but our experience is with them and the dogs). their process is easy, the team is dedicated and the dogs are the most precious. The transport team is caring and professional. I would never choose another rescue after adopting from them.
