Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. Our mission is simple: we find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in the six New England states and special consideration is given as well for states that border New England. Please ask us, we are willing to help!

Adoption process

Adoption Applications are submitted to the Application Team for review. As PRoNE is 100% volunteer staffed, the review and processing of applications will likely take several weeks. Your patience is appreciated. Inquiries via email and our Facebook page also take time to process, so we are not ignoring you, just using limited time and resources on the critical work we do. Please ensure if you have authorized your Vet’s office to speak with us as well as your personal references to expect a call or email from us as this will save time. All applicants are considered and selected on what will constitute the best home for the dog we are placing. You will be notified by email as to the next steps with your application. If you are being considered as a match for the dog for which you have applied, you will be contacted for a phone interview where more detailed understanding of the dog will be shared to ensure this is a great fit. This would then be followed by a Home Visit and later a Meet & Greet. Please bear in mind that not being selected is not a judgement call on an applicant per se; it likely means another applicant was the best choice for that dog. You are encouraged to reapply when you see another dog which you believe might be a good fit.
