About

The mission of PAAWS RI is to provide services to Rhode Island’s most vulnerable populations of animals, through two specific programs. The first part of our mission is to maintain a shelter/rescue program. Stray and abandoned animals have limited options for treatment through traditional veterinarians and shelters. PAAWS RI will fill this gap with our shelter / rescue program and provide these homeless animals with shelter, medical care and rehabilitation. Once these animals are returned to optimal health they will be adopted out to their forever home. Many cats and dogs are suffering with easily treatable problems because affordable veterinary care is unavailable. We will fill that void with our program to provide funding for medical and surgical services. Recipients of these subsides will be animals belonging to low-income pet owners and shelter groups. Services include preventative and sick animal care, surgical and dental procedures, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries.
