Out of Harm's Way is a network of 100+ independent rescuers who network together to pull, transport, foster, and rehome disadvantaged pets. Our mission is to improve the lives of homeless, abandoned, neglected, and abused pets through our rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing efforts. We endeavor to remove them from harm‘s way by pulling them from kill shelters, taking them in through owner surrenders, providing for their immediate medical needs, evaluating their behavioral and social needs, then finding suitable placements for them so that they may live out the remainder of their lives happy, healthy, and well loved. We seek to show all these animals the love and respect they deserve that comes through humane care, heartfelt compassion, and the touch of human kindness.

This group was listed as a resource to people looking for help to rehome their pets. Due to my declining health and funds I was no longer up to the task of helping an abandoned cat. I wanted to ensure he went to the best home even if I had to pay for it. I reached out to this organization, looking for assistance and instead got criticism and hateful messages. Very confusing for a group that listed self as a resource. I wonder how many others received hateful messages from this organization when they just needed help.
