About

Advocate and Rescue for Companion Animals (ARC) is a home-based rescue for companion pets. This dedicated group of foster parents and rescuers, fosters dogs and cats in their homes until they can locate dedicated, loving owners. We accept shelter pets, lost-found pets and owner surrendered pets on an individual basis and when space is available. We also work closely with other rescue groups in the community to foster and rehome needy dogs and cats. We are committed to the saving the pets that would otherwise die in shelters or on the streets. Operation Whodatts and Sue's Mews is part of a merger with area rescues. These groups service areas of the northshore, areas surrounding New Orleans, and concentrate of numerous out reach programs in and out of the state.

Adoption process

The process to adopt one of our pets is as follows: 1. Select the pet(s) your interested in adopting. 2. Contact the rescue representative to set up a visit. 3. Complete the application. 4. We review the application after an interview and possible home visit. 5. We finalize the adoption and you have your new best friend to take home! We are a home-based rescue. Contact us about visiting with our adoptable pets. We will work with you to set up a time for a meet-and-greet.
