Established in 1972 as the Morongo Basin's No-Kill animal shelter, donations, our moderate fees, and an occasional grant help keep the shelter operating.

Adoption process

All animals are spayed or neutered by MBHS before adoption. Our contract requires that cats remain indoors at all times. Adopted dogs must have a secure fenced area appropriate for their size but are not to be kept outside. Humane Society staff will conduct a home and yard check for dogs prior to adoption.
