Lycoming Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is a no-kill cat shelter in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The shelter was originally founded in 1992 in Montoursville, and now is located in our new facility in Williamsport after many years in South Williamsport. During our history, thousands of cats have been protected and adopted. LAPS is a non-profit organization and continues to be a haven for homeless felines.

Adoption process

LAPS wants to ensure that our residents never again have to worry about being homeless. We have a very simple adoption form that we ask potential adopters to complete and sign, with some questions concerning the adopter's residence (own, rent, etc.), some basic questions about animal care and needs, etc. We also ask that you sign a form that states you will provide a home for the lifetime of the cat or will return him/her to the LAPS shelter.
