IDAWG (Idaho Domestic Animal Welfare Group) is a non profit 501(c)(3) corporation based in Nampa, Idaho. IDAWG has been in existence since June 2000 and is staffed entirely with volunteers. IDAWG supports southern Idaho animal shelters as needed, and also helps private citizens rehome their dogs. Sometimes this involves transporting or organizing transports for dogs or cats, or sometimes birds or bunnies, to rescues or permanent homes in adjoining cities and states. IDAWG also offers financial assistance to senior citizens and others who need help paying for spay/neuter services for their companion animals.
1. Pet Selection: Please let us know if there is a particular pet you are interested in adopting. We try to find the best match for you. 2. Application: Complete an online application or contact us via e-mail. 3. Home Visit: When a pet is selected and your application is approved, the pet will be on hold while we arrange for a home visit. A representative from IDAWG or a rescue group located in your area (any state) will come meet you in person to make sure your home is ready for your new companion. 4. Adoption: Meet representative from IDAWG to pick up your wonderful new adopted family member. 5. Follow Up: IDAWG will follow up on your adoption to see how things are going, and you are always welcome to contact us with any behavior or training questions. Updates and/or photos are greatly appreciated! Note: Please send all correspondence / inquiries by email first if possible. It is very hard to return phone calls until the weekend. And remember, we are an all-volunteer organization and we have families, jobs and pets of our own. Your patience and consideration is always appreciated.
