About

HPPL was founded in 1989 by a group of individuals who were concerned about the plight of homeless dogs and cats in the Houston area; specifically, animals that would not usually be put up for adoption by the local animal shelters. These included animals with skin problems such as mange, heartworm positive dogs, and injured or seriously malnourished strays. HPPL is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization. HPPL has a volunteer Board of Directors, and is staffed entirely by volunteers who receive no monetary compensation.
