Happy Tales Ranch and Rescue is a state regulated, no-kill, nonprofit 501(c)(3) rescue located near Colfax Iowa since 2014. We are 100% volunteer based, ALL donation go towards the care of the animals. Our mission is to rescue, provide a safe haven, and care for abandoned animals until a permanent home can be found. We concentrate on special-needs felines, rehabilitation, and rescue from small pounds and shelters. We promote spaying and neutering and assist in paying for it when possible.

Adoption process

If you are interested in adopting one of our felines email us for the pre-adoption application(happytalesiowa@gmail.com), an appointment will be made after we receive the application. This is needed as it helps us with making a feline match and for our insurance liability. We are volunteers but are available most times except for adoption events, vet appointments and kitty errands to run and the occasional family obligation.
