About

Hands & Paws Dog Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue. Our mission is to rescue sick and injured dogs from kill shelters, provide medical treatment and rehabilitation, and find their forever homes. We also work in the community to educate on responsible dog ownership to help prevent dogs from entering shelters in the first place. Hand & Paws is completely volunteer-based. All foster dogs are housed in foster homes and not in a shelter or boarding facility. All members of the rescue have full-time jobs and do not collect a salary from the rescue. 100% of all donations to Hands & Paws go towards the care of rescue dogs.

Adoption process

To start the adoption process: Complete an online application. Show us solid references. Provide us with a vet reference if there are resident pets. A standard home evaluation is required to ensure a safe environment. Have a meet and greet with the dog and your family (including resident pets). Home evaluation and meet and greet can, and often will, coincide. Once the process is completed and you are approved for adoption, you will be required to complete an adoption agreement. This agreement basically states that you will provide a safe and loving home for your new family member.

I have been taking care of a stray cat for months now. It has ear mites and I'm afraid is not 100% well. I have 2 cats and I'm careful about them having no contact with the stray. She and I both love each other but I'm 77 years old and cannot afford health care for another cat. Is there anything you can help me with her? and getting her back in good health? It hurts so much seeing her ears so black with mites.
