We are Friends of York County Animal Shelter. FYCAS is a completely volunteer run 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization assisting York County Animal Control with socializing and re-homing the adoptable animals at the shelter. We help the shelter staff by walking dogs, socializing cats, and assist potential adopters in finding the best match for their next pet. Outside of the shelter, we network and promote the animals available for both adoption and rescue, educate the public about low cost veterinary and spay/neuter programs, actively advocate to our local government for continual improvements, and raise funds to help support the animals in finding their fur-ever homes. Our greatest asset is our volunteers – the time, energy, and dedication that they bring. The more volunteers we have the more animals we can save. FYCAS volunteers all share the common goal of reducing the euthanasia rate of unwanted pets. Since the founding of FYCAS, the shelter has seen a decrease in the number of intakes and euthanasia. A higher percentage of the adoptable animals are finding new homes, and FYCAS continues to grow and network with rescues and fosters while also educating and providing resources to the residents of York County.
Thanks for becoming a No-Kill shelter! I’ve looked for a link to donate to YCAS for days and can’t find one; I KNOW you can use food or donations!
