Colorado Animal Rescue (C.A.R.E.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal care organization located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. We serve as the animal shelter for Garfield County and the city of Glenwood Springs. Our mission is practicing excellence in animal care, education, and advocacy to connect pets to their people. We work to place animals in loving homes, encourage population control, and promote responsible pet ownership.

Adoption process

C.A.R.E. has many dogs and cats looking for forever homes. Our process carefully matches companion pets to the best possible home. We strive for 100% placement of adoptable animals with a knowledgable staff to assist you with your new pet. Our cat/kitten adoption fee is $100 and includes: spay/neuter surgery, Feline Distemper vaccine, Feline Rabies vaccine (if the animal is old enough), basic de-worming, a micro-chip implant, as well as medical and behavorial evaluations. Our dog/puppy adoption fee is $160 and includes: spay/neuter surgery, Distemper combo vaccine, Canine Rabies vaccine, basic de-worming, a micro-chip implant, as well as medical and behavorial evaluations. The adoption survey can take 24 hours to process, however we often times can process a same day adoption. We will review the survey and make sure it is a good fit for the animal and the home.
